Our History

Founded in 1930, the Samuel J. Durso Insurance Agency has been helping individuals, families, and businesses in Massachusetts and New Hampshire meet their changing insurance needs. The Agency was founded by Samuel J. Durso, a builder and contractor from Lawrence. He was soon joined in the business by his new wife, Agnes Durso. Together they built up a solid clientelle, and the agency's reputation soon spread. The original office was located on Newbury Street in Lawrence. A few years later, as the business expanded, the office moved to the Bay State Building in Lawrence, a location that lasted for almost 50 years. In 1966 Samuel's son-in-law Charles Randone entered the business and was joined by his wife, Anne Louise (Durso) Randone. In 1977 Samuel Durso passed away, leaving behind a legacy of service in the Greater Lawrence area.  Charles Randone then took over as President of the Agency and in 1979 the business moved to its existing location in the Professional Building, 198 Massachusetts Ave in North Andover. This was the former site of Glennies Dairy. The new office site provides easy access from the highway and also plenty of parking. In 1993 Brian Randone entered the insurance business and represents the third generation of insurance agents in the family.

In April of 2009, Durso Insurance merged with Michael Jankowski Insurance to form the Durso & Jankowski Insurance Agency, LLC.  Michael Jankowski founded his business in 1994.  For the past 15 years, Mike Jankowski and his partner Brian Cronin have been operating their business out of Main Street in Andover. The Durso & Jankowski Insurance Agency combines two trusted and respected names in the insurance business in the Greater Lawrence area, Merrimack Valley, and beyond. Combining our resources, experience, knowledge, and energy will help us to better serve our customers and provide outstanding service to those individuals, families, and businesses seeking comprehensive insurance coverage.

Although the agency has undergone many changes over the years and insurance rates and policies have fluctuated, the Durso & Jankowski Insurance Agency represents a stable and trusted name in the insurance business. We would like to thank our many customers and also our employees who make our agency what it is today. We are committed to continuing our service into the future... no matter what changes may occur.
